It's not what I expected. The mattress came vacuum packed in a small box about the size of an air conditioner. When I opened it, it immediately expanded to size. I left it settle for a couple days. It is more firm than I expected. It is very comfortable and I have been sleeping well on it. I recommend trying it.

Great inexpensive memory foam option 7/3/2012

We've been sleep on this Mattress for about a month now and still love it. Although the description says soft, it is still very supportive. The mattress does emit a strong odor for the first several nights, so be prepared for that. Also, it's recommended that foam mattress are supported by solid surfaces (not traditional box springs or slats), so we had two pieces for 3/4" plywood cut to the size of the mattress and inserted that into our bed frame.

I bought this for my guest room, and decided to try it out first. The mattress came well packed in a compact size. It easy to setup. There was a slight odor, but it was not bad at all. After a few hours the smell had dissipated and we found the mattress incredibly comfortable. If you're thinking about buying this, do it.

At first, this mattress seemed a little soft, especially when sitting on the bed. However, laying flat it feels perfect and supportive. I would highly recommend for people who have trouble sleeping like I do. Also, my wife is pregnant and tosses and turns at night and I do not notice at all.
